Spring Term 2024

In Art this half term, Year 3 and 4 have been using the work of sculptor Antony Caro as inspiration for our own sculpture. We have looked at examples of his work and experimented with different materials and joining techniques.  We used the simple of idea of playgrounds to create our own sculptures. The outcomes were fantastic!

In Music we have been fortunate to be part of the Northamptonshire Music and Performing Arts Trust “First Access” project. We have spent 10 weeks with experienced music teacher and drummer James, learning all about dynamics, tempo, pulse and rhythm of music, and have put together some super compositions on the South African Djembe drums. A wonderful opportunity which we all really enjoyed!

In Science, we have been learning all about the human digestive system and how it works. We spent some time creating collages to strengthen our understanding of the different organs and their order, before learning about the functions of each part.
