Extra Curricular Activities
During the year a variety of extra-curricular activities are offered, depending upon the time of the year. Some of the activities are organized by teachers, some by parents and some by outside agencies. There may be a charge for some of the activities.
Outdoor Activities
The children have the opportunity to attend a residential course where they can take part in a variety of activities which promote teambuilding skills and self esteem. Pupils develop valuable relationships and face challenges outside their everyday experiences.
Community
The School continues to maintain its links with the parish and ensures that tradition is kept alive by continuing with the May Day celebrations around the village annually.
Hopscotch Group (a group of mums and toddlers) meets at school on Monday and Thursday afternoons.
The friends of Loddington School (our parents’ committee) meet regularly to plan social and fund raising events.
We have a good number of volunteers who come in to help. Parents, grandparents and friends are always welcome.
School Council
The school has an active School Council, whose aim is
To keep our school a smiling school and to help other children who are not so lucky as us.
Each year group has a representative who is democratically elected by other members of the class. The school supports a child in Kenya, through Action Aid. Each child brings 10p per week to school to fulfill this aim.
The school gives regularly to charity. In recent years the school has
been able to give to the Poppy Appeal, the Goodwill Village in India, The KGH Breast Care Appeal, the Children’s Society, Blue Peter Bring and Buy Event, the Tsunami Appeal and Red Nose Day.
