Children are taught good habits for health and diet as well as exploring self-esteem and behaviour towards others. There are also components on safety at home, at play, in water and on the roads. We receive regular visits from the School Nurse who ensures that each child undergoes a health check programme. The school has been awarded the Bronze Award for Healthy Schools.
Education in sexual matters is related to the maturity of the children concerned. It is delivered factually and with sensitivity. The school will ensure that when sex education is given to children, it will be given in such a manner as to encourage the children to have due regard to moral considerations and the value of family life. Parents will always be consulted on the content of the sex education programmes.
